To me, writing transforms experience into something other than things that happened, even if the things recounted happened in real life, and moves the experience out of the framework of a confidence, a confession, or another therapeutic category, into the captivations of language. At that point, to me, the writer and the writing are two different things. These categories are slippery enough outside the context of social media. Within social media, posts are understood as heartfelt, especially if they express loss. To me, even writing about loss is less about missing something than creating a mood and arousing emotion in the reader, again, the captivations of language.
